Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, has controls that don’t flow naturally and take a while to get used to, it improves on some mechanics of other entries from the series, yet sometimes those same improved mechanics don’t work as intended.
By all means, it is an RPG game that expects players to manage their resources intelligently, it invites exploration through a relatively big map, that provides different goals, missions, and events. Through the core mechanics of the game, you are invited to fish, forage, mine, and farm resources to create a place for you to live. Loving this game or not, comes by deciding if you, yourself, find the task of re-building a town from scratch is a fun adventure or not.
